Prophecy is a Word from the LORD that encourages, uplifts, comforts and exhorts. Logos is the written Word (Bible) and prophecy is the Rhema Word, a now Word that speaks to your potential in Christ. Most often there will be conditions which must be met for the prophetic Word to be fulfilled, contained in the prophecy.
Prophecy can cocntain the Word of knowledge about persons, places or things. It can contain the gift of discerning of spirits, which is seeing the heart of a person that is given personal prophecy. Prophecy is not automatic, it is andd remians your responsibility in what degree of obedience you walk with the LORD.
Prophecy never condemns, criticizes or judges. Prophecy does not tell a person what to do, such as go to a foreign country, get married to a certain person, and so on.
The prophet is not to dictate, control or manipulate others with the gift. What you do with the Word that you have been given will determine its fulfillment in your own life. Be lege by His calmness and in His calmness. The received word should at all times be checked with the written Word, the Bible. Prophecy can never be in contrast with the written Word of God.
The Prophet is NOT a Christian psychic. Often people are looking for the kind of word that a psychic claims to provide. This is not of God, and is not prophecy. Prophecy does not point our the sins and shortcomings of others. It does not chide. Scripture's command is to "believe the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper" (2 Chr 20:20, KJV). Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Rom 10:17), but you have to actively do so. A passive faith is not going to receive anything from the LORD. So arise! Believe and receive the Word of the Lord through the prophet and you will proper and it will surely be fulfilled.
